Q. How many days before a referendum can posters be erected?

A. Referendum posters can be displayed from the date on which the Minister makes the polling day order appointing the day on which the referendum shall be held.

Referendum on 26 October 2018

The Polling Day Order for the referendum on the Thirty-seventh Amendment of the Constitution (Repeal of offence of publication or utterance of blasphemous matter) Bill 2018 was signed on the 21 September 2018. The referendum will be held on Friday 26 October 2018.   Posters therefore can be erected from 21 September 2018.
